This quote states that your character is higher than your intellect. Showing good character is over all higher than intelligence. You can be the smartest person in a class but the student who will get reward is the one who shows good character. Another example would be those who are running for president. If I could vote I would choose the candidate who has the best character towards people. Other than those who show bad character but are very intelligent. Being both is awesome but what is higher and shows more is character.
